ACT's Summer Bounty Party will be held on Tuesday June 20th, on the beautiful Stoneacre Garden patio in Newport's Brick Marketplace, the home of our winter market. Tickets include samples from local food and beverage vendors, music, and the people you want to spend an evening with.
Our annual Summer Bounty event not only raises program funds, but it also creates a lively (and delicious) evening to connect community members and lift up the conversation about how change will happen.
Start Your Weekend at the Saturday Growers Market
Did you know the winter market runs through the end of April? Catch us every Saturday morning from 9AM to noon at Stoneacre Garden, 151 Swinburne Row in Newport, and begin your weekend with a sweet treat from Buns Bakery, Dee's Little Sweets or Lucy's Kitchen. Pick a seafood for dinner from The Local Catch, or responsibly, regeneratively sourced meats from Aquidneck Farms and Pat's Pastured. Roots Family Farm and RI Mushroom Co. have the ingredients for main dishes and so many sides. And, if you are looking for recipe inspiration, check out the RI Mushroom Co. website and Edible Rhody magazine.
The B'ladies Professional Knife Sharpening will be back at the market on February 11th to sharpen household knives, scissors, and pinking shears in addition to most loppers and Felco style pruners.
Click here to explore our full list of winter vendors, and note there will not be a market on St. Patrick's Parade Day, March 11th.)

Local Food Champions: Chris Bender & the Stoneacre Team →
ACT: Where did your interest in food begin?
CB: From as young as I can remember, food was always the connection to family and all things happy. Whether it was cooking with my parents or going to a family member's house for a bigger meal, it was always something I've related to friends, family, and togetherness.
