Our community farm in Middletown demonstrates the viability and joy of small-scale sustainable agriculture.
About the Farm
Island Community Farm was established in 2012 when island residents concerned about the threats of global climate change, food insecurity and the lack of sustainability in our lives banded together to make a difference on the Island. In partnership with Aquidneck Land Trust from whom the farm is leased, 33 garden plots and two micro-farms are available for annual lease to all Island residents committed to growing organically and cooperatively. All beds are currently full, with applications for vacancies accepted in early 2018.
Island Community Farm is also the location of ACT's composting program, a Children's Garden and a Food Forest. Compost is available to gardeners for a small fee.
Island Community Farms offers two ways to grow your own food: Community Gardens and Micro-Farm Plots. For more information click here.
