Mark your calendars for the November 20th screening of Fantastic Fungi at Jane Pickens Theater. The film is a visual spectacle and will inspire a shift in consciousness and a renewed love of nature. Director Louie Schwartzberg will do a Q & A via Skype after the film. A percentage of the proceeds from this evening will be donated to Aquidneck Community Table.
Join us for the first winter market of the season at Easton’s Beach on November 2nd! We will be set up outside or in the ground level of the Rotunda.
On Saturday mornings from 9:00AM to 12:30PM this fall and winter, take a stroll on the beach or along the Cliff Walk after your morning farmers market shopping and snacking. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the critters at Save The Bay’s Exploration Center and Aquarium. We are excited about this beautiful new market location at 175 Memorial Boulevard in Newport.
The market will be held on the ground level of the rotunda, (except for November 2 when it will be located in the parking lot due to a previously scheduled event) expanding to the surrounding patios in fine weather.
Join us for fun in the garden during Pell School Open House. Aquidneck Community Table and Pell Elementary students and teachers welcome you to stop by the School Garden for tours and tastings, to purchase raffle tickets for a “Farm to Dinner,” and to learn how you can be part of The Food Challenge.
Join us for the Food Challenge Kick Off Party at Innovate Newport with guest speaker, Lisa Raiola, the founder of Hope & Main. Lisa will speak about eating local and what lead her to start the food incubator, Hope & Main, which has helped to revolutionize the local food system in Rhode Island.
Be sure to stop by Prescott Farm in Middletown, RI on Sunday as Newport Restoration Foundation and Aquidneck Community Table host a pop-up Farmers Market from 12:00 – 3:00 pm! While you’re there, check out the 1812 windmill, or chat up the URI Master Gardeners for some tips for your own garden.

The Food Explorers program returns to our Monday, Wednesday and Saturday farmers markets. Children keep track of all the new foods they (bravely!) try in their Food Passports as they sample the fruit or vegetable of the week - in season and on sale at the market.
Enjoy the afternoon and evening at Miantonomi Park for Teatro en el Verano: a generous and exuberant offering of cross-cultural summer theater from Rhode Island Latino Arts and Trinity Repertory Company. This superb production is not to be missed.
Moving from a pilot composting project to 100% island wide composting. Looking forward to sharing the status of the project, updates from invited guests, and collective plans for the future. Register here.
